I'm Rebekah — a therapist for individuals and couples working through what happens when desire stops matching, and for older adults navigating grief, transition, and the parts of life nobody prepares you for.
In my family and my friendships, I was always the mediator — the one people found when something was too heavy to carry alone. I spent years in film production before admitting the obvious: the part of every day I cared about was the people. So I went and got trained in the thing I'd been doing my whole life.
My path to sex therapy started with a strange contradiction: I grew up in a world where sex was completely taboo — and yet, unusually, I was taught a lot about it. Know everything; touch nothing. Most people raised with that kind of silence get no information at all. I got the information and the shame, and the gap between the two made me endlessly curious. When I got older I saw how many people carry that same weight — educated or not — into their relationships, and how rarely anyone helps them put it down. That's the work I wanted to do.
The other half of my heart belongs to older adults. Grief, retirement, the body changing, independence shifting — these are enormous transitions that our culture mostly looks away from. I don't look away.
For individuals and couples navigating desire discrepancy — when wanting different things, or wanting differently, has started to strain the relationship.
This is direct, shame-free, deeply practical work: understanding what desire actually is, what it needs, and how two people talk about it without anyone going quiet.
For adults in later chapters facing loss — of people, of roles, of autonomy — and the identity questions that come with every one of those.
Steady, respectful work that takes your whole history seriously and treats this stage of life as one still full of movement.

Private pay only — I don't take insurance, and I provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible reimbursement. I hold a small number of sliding-scale spots; they're currently full, but ask — availability changes, and I keep a list.
No — I'm private pay, and I provide superbills. Check with your insurance company to see what percentage of out-of-network therapy, if any, they reimburse. A card on file is required.
It's case by case, but my starting policy is consistency: once a week, 50 minutes, for the first eight to twelve weeks. From there we have collaborative conversations — is this working, do we want more frequency, less, are we feeling better? That decision is never made at you. It's made with you.
Full buy-in from both partners matters — it's the spirit of the work. If your partner is halfway there, bring them to a session and we'll have an honest conversation together about what it would take. If they're an absolute no, couples work isn't the right starting point — but individual therapy might be, and that's a strong place to begin.
Here's my policy, and it exists to protect the work: if we start individually, we stay individual — I'll refer you to a great couples therapist if that need arises. If we start as a couple and later one of you wants individual work, I can continue with one partner — but we don't switch back to couples after that. It's about keeping the therapy fair and unbiased for everyone in the room.
Honestly? Therapy is an expense, and for a lot of people it's a real stretch — if the fee doesn't work for you, I'd encourage you to look within your insurance network, and I'll say that without judgment. If you can make it work, here's how I see it: this is an investment in yourself, and it pays differently than anything else you'll buy. I also hold sliding-scale spots as they open.
You talk, I listen, and we both find out. If I'm not the right therapist for you, I'll say so — and point you toward someone who is.
